TriptoBIO is a biotechnology company applying cutting-edge synthetic biology to efficiently manufacture high-quality drug substances, including male contraceptives. Their approach paves the way for low costs of production and to the consumer.

Our Grant

MCI is supporting TriptoBIO to increase the efficiency and production of a yeast platform that produces triptonide, a male contraceptive candidate molecule that has shown efficacy and initial safety in multiple animal studies. Ultimately, this work intends to facilitate drug production costs comparable to female oral contraceptives.
