Male Contraceptive Initiative is committed to revolutionizing family planning by expanding male birth control options.
We believe in reproductive autonomy for all. Our goal is to empower individuals and couples with the resources they need to make informed family planning decisions. We actively fund and advocate for research of non-hormonal, reversible male contraception. We're striving to make innovative methods of male birth control a reality.

We are a small nonprofit based in Durham, North Carolina, in the U.S. We support those in the research community that are working on developing the next generation of non-hormonal, reversible male birth control methods. We advocate for increased awareness and acceptance of male contraception to help ensure people are thinking and talking about male birth control methods, beyond condoms, vasectomy, and the long-awaited male birth control pill.

Contraceptive Accelerator NetworkContraceptive Accelerator Network (CAN) is a mission-driven pharmaceutical company dedicated to advancing non-hormonal, reversible male birth control methods. Our goal is to bridge the gap in contraceptive research to ensure that promising non-hormonal, reversible contraceptive targets receive the support necessary to develop them as next generation birth control methods delivered to those who produce sperm.

Boards & Committees
|
Our board of directors and advisors provide invaluable industry expertise, guiding our efforts. Additionally, our Youth Advisory Board (YAB) and Campus Ambassador Program (CAP) bring fresh perspectives from the next generation of male birth control users. Together, we're working towards a future where men have more choices in family planning and a greater voice in the drug development process.

Vision & MissionOur vision, "Reproductive Autonomy for All," is a call to action. We believe that everyone, regardless of gender, deserves the freedom to make informed choices about family planning. The lack of adequate male birth control methods limits men's reproductive autonomy. This, in turn, often burdens women with the sole responsibility of contraception, further restricting their reproductive freedom. We believe that true reproductive autonomy can only be achieved when contraception is accessible to everyone.
