Male Contraceptive Initiative condemns in the strongest possible terms any and all acts of violence perpetrated against any group or individual. The most pressing reason for asserting this today is the unconscionable rise in attacks on people of Asian descent in America over the past year, with at least 3,700 individual acts of violence reportedly committed against this community since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. We are saddened and distressed by this violence and the way it affects Asian American communities. We aim to be as inclusive as possible in all of our organizational efforts. We are incredibly fortunate to work with the best and brightest people and minds from diverse communities in the United States and abroad. We believe unequivocally that our work has and continues to be strengthened by this diversity of thinking, experiences, and perspectives. We believe in moving forward together, and know the truth in Dr. King’s statement, “Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.”
We encourage you to reach out to us and share your thoughts with how best to move forward. We will go far further together than we ever will alone. In the meantime, we wanted to share links with you to local (Durham, NC) and national organizations working to create positive change for you to visit and consider supporting:
